About the blog
The purpose of bargain bourbon is to create a blog where I can pursue my passion for whiskey on a budget, while also educating (and being educated) about America’s native spirit (bourbon) and whisk(e)y in general. Overall, I love drinking whiskey and talking about it. I hope this can be a place for good conversations online about whiskey, and a learning experience for me and my readers. Let it ride!

I find it difficult to agree with you but chalk it up to a variance in taste rather than you or me being flat out wrong.

Hey James, thanks for the comment, and thanks for reading the blog in spite of your disagreement. Out of curiosity, what is it about the blog that you find difficult to agree with?

Awesome Blog! However, I rate OLD GRAND DAD (BONDED) 100 proof Bourbon
waaaaaaay higher than a “C”. Dear God almighty……it’s become a favorite of mine ESPECIALLY considering it price point. I can no longer afford (or seldom afford) to buy expensive bottles of Scotch (and/or Irish Whiskey) which is how I discovered the wonderful/excellent American Whiskey “Bourbon”. My next Bourbon purchase will most likely be WILD TURKEY 101. That being said….I have been on a spending spree attempting to find THE best IN-expensive Bourbon (while storing away bottles for a rainy day). I too found that I like EVAN WILLAMS BLACK LABLE for the cost which is THE least expensive Bourbon I’ve tried. W. L. WELLER is quite wonderful for a bit more money. However, OGD (BONDED) 100 has become my current “best bang for the buck” favorite of ANY Whiskey/Whisky. That being said, a rather surprisingly good Scotch Blend is TEACHERS HIGHLAND CREAM (again) especially for it’s low cost.
As far as (what USE to be my most often Whiskey of choice) IRISH WHISKEY “Clontarf Irish Whiskey Black Label” is IMHO the best (under twenty dollars a bottle) Irish Whiskey that has crossed my Lips. (NH price is $18.00 a 750ml). I live in MAINE.
I suspect I will “stock up” on “entry level” Bourbon such as BENCHMARK OLD NO. 8, OLD CROW RESERVE, OLD OVERHOLT, FIGHTING COCK 103, W.L. WELLER, EVAN WILLIAMS BLACK, JIM BEAM BLACK, ELIJAH CRAIG 12, BUFFALO TRACE, etc. I am sure open to suggestion for other BEST IN-expensive Bourbons. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Regards,
TOM PATRICK
